TEBA League requires all teams to properly contract, register, and compensate their players and team personnel. Team owners are responsible for ensuring these requirements are satisfied before a player participates in league competition.
Player Contracts
Every player must have an official TEBA-compliant contract completed and signed before participating in an official TEBA game.
A verbal agreement, unsigned contract, pending contract, text-message agreement, or promise to complete paperwork later does not satisfy this requirement.
Team owners are responsible for ensuring all required contracts are generated, submitted, and signed before the player takes the court.
2026 Player Compensation
TEBA establishes compensation ranges based on player classification.
First-Round Draft Pick
1,100–2,500 THB per game
Second-Round Draft Pick
650–1,000 THB per game
Veteran Minimum
A qualifying Thai veteran with more than six seasons of experience: minimum 1,500 THB per game
Veteran / Regular Player Super Max
Up to 3,000 THB per game
Rookie Super Max
Up to 2,500 THB per game
Teams may carry a maximum of two (2) Super Max contracts where permitted under the applicable TEBA salary rules.
The player’s official TEBA contract must accurately reflect the compensation agreed upon between the player and team.
Player Payment Deadline
Players must be paid according to their contracts.
Game compensation should be paid within 24–48 hours following the applicable game.
Owners are responsible for maintaining sufficient funds to meet their team’s payroll obligations throughout the season.
Undisclosed Compensation & Side Agreements
All player compensation must be properly disclosed.
Owners, coaches, sponsors, team representatives, or other persons acting on behalf of a team may not provide undisclosed compensation, additional cash payments, private benefits, or side agreements intended to circumvent TEBA salary rules.
A prohibited under-the-table compensation arrangement may result in:
$1,000 fine + playoff ineligibility + loss of the team’s first-round draft selection the following season.
Additional discipline may be imposed when appropriate.
Luxury Tax
When a player is compensated above an applicable TEBA salary limit under circumstances where the league permits the player to remain eligible, the team is responsible for the applicable luxury tax.
The TEBA luxury tax is:
$100 USD per game, per player above the applicable cap.
Payment of the luxury tax does not authorize an otherwise prohibited or undisclosed compensation arrangement.
Coaches & Team Personnel
Each team is responsible for maintaining appropriate coaching and team personnel for league competition.
Owners must provide TEBA with required information concerning coaches and other team personnel and ensure those individuals comply with applicable league requirements.
Player-Coaches
TEBA does not permit an active player to simultaneously serve as that team’s official coach.
Playing and coaching positions must remain separate.
Player-Owners
TEBA permits an approved team owner to participate as a Player-Owner subject to league approval and the restrictions established below.
A Player-Owner may continue participating as an active player through age 32.
Once a Player-Owner turns 33 years old, they are no longer eligible to participate as a player for the team they own.
The Player-Owner’s playing eligibility therefore ends on their 33rd birthday. This restriction applies even if the birthday occurs during an active TEBA season.
After turning 33, the individual may continue serving the organization in an approved non-playing capacity, including as an owner, manager, administrator, or other authorized team representative.
Player-Owner Approval
Player-Owner status is not automatic.
An owner wishing to participate as a player must receive prior approval from TEBA League and satisfy all applicable player eligibility, registration, contract, roster, and competition requirements.
Ownership of a team does not guarantee eligibility to play.
Player-Owner Tryout Restrictions
An active Player-Owner may not personally host, organize, operate, or financially benefit from a team tryout where prohibited under TEBA’s Player-Owner requirements.
Team tryouts involving a Player-Owner’s organization must follow TEBA’s approved procedures and maintain appropriate separation between the owner’s playing interests and player-selection process.
Player-Owner Term
Player-Owner approval may be limited to the applicable season and remains subject to TEBA review.
Continued participation as a Player-Owner requires compliance with TEBA eligibility requirements and may require renewed league approval.
Owner Responsibility
Team owners are ultimately responsible for ensuring their team’s contracts, compensation, payroll, and personnel comply with TEBA requirements.
Private agreements between an owner and player cannot override TEBA eligibility, salary, roster, or disciplinary rules.
