wnership, Eligibility & League Standing
TEBA League team ownership carries responsibilities to the league, players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and other team owners. Owners are expected to operate their teams professionally and remain in good standing throughout the season.
Owner Approval
All new team owners are subject to TEBA League approval.
TEBA may require prospective owners to complete identity verification, a background review, and other league-required screening before ownership is approved.
Approval to own or operate a TEBA team is granted by the league and may not be transferred to another person without league authorization.
First-Season Ownership
New team owners may be subject to a first-season probationary period while TEBA evaluates compliance with league rules, financial obligations, team operations, and professional conduct.
Completion of a season does not prevent TEBA from taking disciplinary action for violations discovered during or after that season.
Maintaining Good Standing
Owners must remain in good standing with TEBA throughout the season.
Good standing includes, but is not limited to:
– Remaining current on league dues and approved team expenses.
– Maintaining an eligible and properly documented roster.
– Ensuring required player and staff contracts are completed.
– Paying players and other contracted personnel as required.
– Meeting league deadlines.
– Complying with league roster, draft, transaction, uniform, game-day, and conduct requirements.
– Responding to reasonable league administrative requests.
– Satisfying disciplinary decisions, fines, or other league obligations.
Failure to remain in good standing may result in restrictions on team operations, suspension, or other league disciplinary action.
Ownership Transfers
A TEBA team may not be privately sold, assigned, or transferred to another person without league approval.
A proposed new owner must complete the applicable TEBA ownership approval process before assuming control of the team.
An agreement between private parties does not, by itself, make the purchaser or transferee a recognized TEBA team owner.
Leaving the League
An owner intending to leave TEBA should provide the league with at least 90 days’ notice.
Unless otherwise approved by TEBA, an owner remains responsible for completing existing league, team, player, financial, and administrative obligations associated with the applicable season.
Leaving the league does not automatically eliminate outstanding financial or contractual obligations.
Team Identity and League Assets
TEBA team names, logos, league-created branding, and other league-controlled intellectual property remain subject to TEBA’s ownership and licensing rules.
Leaving or transferring a team does not automatically transfer ownership of TEBA-controlled intellectual property to the departing owner.
League Authority
TEBA League retains authority over league membership, ownership approval, player eligibility, scheduling, competition rules, disciplinary matters, and interpretation of league regulations.
Owners are responsible for following official league decisions and current published rules.
Suspension or Removal
Serious or repeated violations may result in disciplinary action, including loss of privileges, suspension, or removal as a TEBA team owner.
TEBA may consider the nature of the violation, previous violations, financial obligations, player welfare, competitive integrity, and the owner’s cooperation when determining appropriate action.
