TEBA League – Fighting & Unsportsmanlike Conduct Rules

 

1. Purpose

The TEBA League enforces a strict code of conduct to ensure safety, professionalism, and respect across all teams and players. Fighting, shoving, or any form of physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated. The following rules and fines apply to all players, coaches, and staff.


2. Definitions

  • Fighting: Throwing or attempting to throw a punch, kick, elbow, headbutt, or object toward another person.
  • Shoving / Physical Contact: Any intentional push, shove, or aggressive contact directed at another player, coach, or official after the whistle.
  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Verbal abuse, taunting, or actions that provoke conflict, including spitting or threatening gestures.
  • Escalation / Bench Involvement: Leaving the team bench area or joining an on-court altercation in any way.

3. Penalties and Fines

First Offense – Shove or Physical Contact Immediate ejection 5,000 THB 1 game
Second Offense – Repeated or Aggressive Contact Ejection + review by Disciplinary Committee 10,000 THB 2–3 games
Fighting (Throwing Punch, Kick, or Strike) Automatic ejection 20,000 THB 3–5 games or full-season ban
Bench Escalation (Leaving Bench During Altercation) Fine per player 2,500 THB 1 game
Coach Involved in Altercation Fine + review 10,000 THB 2–3 games
Team-Wide Involvement League investigation + sanctions 20,000 THB (team) Possible forfeiture or removal

4. Payment Responsibility

  • All fines are paid by the team and deducted directly from the player’s or coach’s salary for that pay period.
  • Teams are responsible for ensuring all players are under paid contracts and actively receiving pay to allow fines to be enforced properly.
  • Any team that fails to pay fines within 7 days will be ineligible to play its next scheduled game until payment is confirmed.

5. Disciplinary Review Process

  • All incidents will be reviewed within 48 hours by the TEBA League Disciplinary Committee.
  • Decisions will be based on video review, referee reports, and witness statements.
  • Appeals must be submitted in writing within 24 hours after notification.
  • The League reserves the right to increase penalties for repeat or severe offenses.

6. League Integrity and Code of Conduct

All players, coaches, and staff must:

  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  • Respect referees, league staff, and opponents.
  • Avoid any act that brings the TEBA League into disrepute.
  • Accept responsibility for their behavior both on and off the court.

Failure to comply with these standards may result in additional suspensions, fines, or permanent removal from the league.
