Draft Eligibility & Nomination Process
To become draft eligible, a player must attend an official team tryout and be selected by that team as one of its Top 5 prospects.
Teams evaluate players through in-person workouts so they can see each player’s skills, attitude, conditioning, and overall fit before deciding who they may want to build their roster around.
After the tryout, each team is required to inform players whether they were selected as a Top 5 prospect or not. Only players officially nominated as Top 5 prospects will be entered into the draft pool.
Players who are not selected as a Top 5 prospect at a tryout will not be draft eligible unless another team later evaluates them in person and officially nominates them as one of its Top 5 prospects.
There are no honorable mentions or secondary nominations. Only official Top 5 nominations per workout count toward draft eligibility.
